Philanthropy

The founders of Delta Gamma set forth the motto "Do Good", and the Delta Gamma Foundation allows members numerous opportunities to live out this motto.

Since 1936, Delta Gamma's philanthropic mission has been to assist those who are blind or visually impaired. Our specific philanthropy is Service for Sight, Aid to the Blind. We work closely with the Indiana School for the Blind (ISBVI), which is conveniently located just around the corner, by getting to know the students through hosting holiday parties at our house and attending events at the school. We are fortunate to have hands-on access to our philanthropy throughout the year. We are also proud to be the first Delta Gamma chapter that has started raising money for ORBIS International, which is a nonprofit organization dedicated to saving sight worldwide.

Alpha Tau's participate annually in a Vision Walk at ISBVI each fall. In addition to that, we also host many DG Delight (our delicious dessert) fundraisers. Our big philanthropy event every year is Anchor Splash, which is held in the fall. All of the money Alpha Tau raises throughout these events goes to ISBVI and other organizations fighting blindness.
